Common Areas
Our Farm
Welcome to our neck of the woods, we enjoy our life in the country, where it is a whole different world…in the peace and quiet…where the pace is old-fashioned slow. We are here to encourage you as you fulfill your Country Adventure.

This is a working Crop Farm, so, you’ll see us out and about doing chores. There are no sounds of semis, trucks, cars etc. on our dead-end road. As you look out from your Second-Floor windows you might see in a distant field the neighbor’s- eight grown siblings passing in a four-wheeler, or cars, on their way down their field lane to their riverfront campsite. On the other side of the farmhouse at the far end of the secluding hill hay field, you also might get a glimpse- off in the distance- of our other neighbors’ tractor as he works in his field. When looking in the third direction you will see our farm and fields as in that direction there are 100 acres of rolling hills and woods.

As you look, you will see enjoyable areas you will want to visit for a while on our farm. Next to the house there is a “Free Little Library”, and these books are “free to take home with you.” In the distance is “Pine Tree House,” and out back is the covered Gazebo with lattice sides that looks like a grain bin yet never has been one. The Gazebo is painted in mossy green paint with brown woodgrain highlights that make it easy on the eyes and keep it cool during the times the sun filters through the Maple and Cedar Trees.

Right behind the “Grain Bin Gazebo” is the “Cement Pillar Grillzebo.” Guests will also see a little garden with a “Crown Gazebo.” A little further west is the barn and the farm signs beckoning a walk through the farm. Every now and then and especially if the miniature donkeys see a person, they will bray their greeting.

Second Floor Living Room Lounge
When you stay with us, in this cozy place…we will all be sharing the same house. There will be many chances to visit as we go about doing the things we enjoy…each with our own separate bedroom living quarters. Guests have their own private entrance…access to come and go 24 hours a day. Upstairs right outside the two guests’ rooms is the Second Floor Living Room, a Common Area, with flatscreen T.V. There are Magazines in Cubbyholes, books in a Staircase Wagon, and more books in the bookcase, but unlike the out-door library we request these special in-door-books remain here with us. There are also DVD Movies and games stored in bookshelf drawers. The Living Room Lounge is stocked with Beverages, Candies, Popcorn Machine, popcorn and appliances. We are often in this area restocking supplies, removing dishes that need washing from a tray provided, and we have a bell that can be rung when we are home and inside, that we can hear, so that we come if supplies are needed.

The Self-Serve Beverage Lounge
is open 24 hours a day and is stocked with bottled water, juices, sodas, coffee, specialty coffees, teas and hot chocolate. No need to be afraid of drinking cold fresh Well Water from our Tap Water on site. The Well is checked yearly to ensure the safety of the water. For your enjoyment the lounge contains a Keurig Machine, Coffee Machine, Electric Tea Kettle, Toaster, Small Microwave and mugs, glasses, glass plates and bowls and flatware. Just leave used dishes on the “provided tray” on the tray table behind the sofa and we will replace the tray and wash the dishes.
Guests have the use of one full shelf in the refrigerator and half a shelf in the freezer of the Full-Sized Lounge Refrigerator. Guests can bring their own food supplies and make their own sandwiches and microwave their own meals. (There is “no” Guest Stove available.) At various times a guest might find treats waiting for them on the Lounge Buffet Counter.

Arrival/ Evening Snack
We practice a healthy lifestyle refraining from alcohol as we go about our day enjoying the beautiful rolling hills of Wisconsin. We especially enjoy the sounds of nature, birds singing, gentle breezes, tinkling wind chimes, water gurgling over rocks and of course a donkey braying now and then. We provide little sandwiches, crackers and cheese, fruit, Ginger Beer (from the Island of Bermuda- like Ginger Ale) or fruit juice, and a sweet treat.

Campfire with Smores (if there is not a fire burning ban)
We provide a campfire out-front of the B&B near the pond. We have a ring of stones that a metal caged campfire fits into- that can be lit for our guests. There are three rustic benches for sitting near the campfire. Also provided are retractable campfire sticks, marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate bars to make smores.

Back-Yard Grillzebo Barbecue
We provide a shared Barbecue for guest use (Guests supply the meat etc.) with a Noon and Evening slot availability so that all guests get a chance to use it if they would like to. The Barbeque comes with charcoal, a few condiments, utensils and cutting board. There are Cupboards where the supplies are stored- Baskets, Paper towels, etc.

Picnics
Our guests are welcome to eat inside in their room or lounge if they wish, but they can also take in the beauty of this Central Wisconsin Crop Farm. There is a large octagon shaped Covered Gazebo with large table and near the Gazebo another large round Cement-Picnic-Table right outside the guest entrance in the secluded back yard. And if you feel like a little stroll before Lunch or Supper guests can walk down the field lane to the large out-door Covered-Platform-Patio with Bistro Table and chairs, we lovingly call “Pine Tree House.” Under “Pine Tree House” is a sturdy two-person swing where you can rock and listen to bird songs, the tinkling wind chime and gentle breezes as you swing awhile. At the Tree House you can look over the farm and enjoy a picnic, or you can walk to “Rippling River Park” and have a picnic at the picnic table while you sit by the river and listen to the water.

BREAKFAST
Guests have a choice: Breakfast added to their reservation- when booking a room. (Room Occupancy 2)
Visitors…be our Guest for Breakfast in our Dining Room…at the time chosen on the Guest Menu. But there are also other choices- as to where you can eat Breakfast- in the Gazebo, at Cement Picnic Table or on the Front Porch.

Choosing from the Menu
Our food is fresh and often obtained the day of Guest Arrival. While checking in- guests will indicate food allergies and intolerances like needing gluten free food etc. We require guests to fill out menu preferences by 6:00 pm the evening before the next morning’s breakfast.
Breakfast consists of a plated main dish, such as a variety of egg dishes with a salad or compote waffle with salad, juice and a buffet table of goodies. Buffet table- will have free choice casserole, breads, muffins, yogurts, fruit and desserts.

It had been a warm and pleasant spring- then the snow came- but this day there was no wind and we enjoyed the outdoors in these sunny locations- we had spring fever.

Picnics are fun…. a takeout from a local restaurant can make a lasting memory.
